Unravel The Pentatonic Masterclass

I’ve designed this package to encourage you to find new depths and ideas in our all-time favourite pentatonic scale.

Over the course of the masterclass, I’ll be showing you some really helpful “out of the box” shapes for some of the pentatonic fingering patterns I really love, like 3-1-3, 2-1-2 and even some 1-note-per-string fingerings I’ve come up with.

I’ll also be sharing a variety of exercises that will help you move these shapes in any direction with ease, incorporating hammer-ons, pull offs, economy picking and hybrid picking.

Then there are 20 licks, applying these unique fingerings in a more musical context. We’ll be adding a lot of chromaticism and time displacement concepts, helping you to spotlight the hidden wide intervallic secrets of the scale, enriching your pentatonic vocabulary. These licks will challenge all of your techniques so you can also use them as part of your overall practice.

All through this booklet, I’ll be giving you tips relating to each lick or exercise. My main focus here is to give you all the tools you need to truly unfold the pentatonic scale, spark your creativity and develop your own voice. I recommend that you use this material creatively as soon as possible – after learning a new lick or concept, try exploring your own ideas over the two highly energetic backing tracks (one in A minor and one in E minor) that I’ve created for this package. There are also slow and regular versions of both backing tracks, to make your practice more enjoyable.

I also encourage you to use all this material over other backing tracks in different musical genres – the same principles work in many different types of music.
