Rock Techniques Masterclass

In this masterclass Justin helps you to explore five integral techniques that are almost unavoidable in modern rock playing; alternate picking, legato, arpeggios, hybrid picking and tapping. You’ll find a masterclass PDF that will guide you through everything you need to know with explanations and tips, as well as 50 total exercises (five sections containing 10 killer exercises each), played both fast and slow so you can really study everything in detail.

As these are musical ideas and not just technical drills you’ll also be using lots of other creative rock techniques inside the exercises such as 3 note per string runs, chromatics, string skipping, bending, slides, target notes, wider stretches and more!

Justin say’s ‘I’m a rock player… we all get caught up playing in ‘the box’ at times which is awesome ( I do it all the time, we’re all guilty of it!). These exercises and examples have helped me to break out of that, to give me a new flavour and some added colour.

The one thing I’d like for you guys to take away from this is to take these lines, take these examples, beat them to the ground by rehearsing them. Practise them as much as you can because I want you to be able to create your own lines out of these.’

To finish up Justin combined everything together and laid it all out in a fantastically improvised solo that not only uses the exercise concepts in practice, but is also ripe for the picking with mountains of attitude and a collection of kick-ass rock licks that only years of experience can bring to the table!
