Jeff Loomis' Plains of Oblivion is one of the most aggressive metal solo instrumental records around. With the ability to combine insane shred, blistering solos and heavy riffs, Jeff shows here why he is one of the heavy hitters in his field. This album is seriously immense. However, it ain't all shred....there's also a lot of material that is much more melodic, such as the ballad Chosen Time and Continuum Drift which also has a guest solo from Chris Poland.
Infact, this album features many guests...including Marty Friedman, Tony MacAlpine, Attila Voros, Ihsahn and vocals from Christina Rhodes. Jeff really pulled in some other big hitters!
If you love your metal, then this album is one that you should have in your collection!
