Few albums have the tenacity to genre hop and bend the rules quite like Jason Kui has done with “NAKA”. Even when blissfully playing acoustic arpeggiated chords, you’ll be a hop, skip and a jump away from door slamming prog metal, mind bending shred and super heavy chuggy riffs.
Jason says “NAKA is a Japanese word that means, “in between” and I have tried to apply this to my music as I do my life. So I have brought in my different influences to try and bring some balance in a way that is still absorbing to the listener ”.
With time signature changes, style switch ups, and out of this world guest solos from Andy Timmons, Tom Quayle, Andy James, and Poh Hock, there’s a flood of material here to keep even the most advanced guitarist busy.

Calm and harmonious at times. Frenzied and demonic at others. Balance the light and dark in your guitar playing and master the hidden gems of Naka!
