Hexatonic Scale Masterclass: Beginner

'What is the hexatonic scale?' you might be asking. Roy will show you the true magic behind this intriguing scale but in essence you'll be adding a new colour note to change the sound of the pentatonic scale!

If you know your pentatonics pretty well already, this course is primed to give you everything you need to gain a fresh new sound in an instant!

Roy's masterclass is organised into 6 main sections. Each one covers essential knowledge to give you a full understanding of how to use this scale effectively and most importantly, musically!

The sections you'll be digging into are as follows; Concepts and positions of the scales, linking the shapes together, finding and emphasising the target note, breaking out of the box with single strings, developing and building motion using sequences and patterns and finally, finding triads and 7th arpeggios.

Each subject is covered in the comprehensive theory booklet which contains all the explanations you'll need and comes complete with exercise and lick breakdowns and full scale diagrams.

Throughout the masterclass you'll be working on over 30 exercises to familiarise yourself with the concepts and ideas presented by Roy in this masterclass. Each exercise has been refined multiple times to make sure it's practical and beneficial in a real musical setting.

At the end of each section you'll find these short bite-sized licks that you can learn quickly to familiarise yourself with the ideas and techniques. Each lick is played both fast and slow for ease of studying and combined together you'll get over 20 licks to learn!

To round off everything, Roy combines it all together in one killer solo for you to study. Master it all up past the full solo, and you'll have a new found ability to pull out the hexatonic scale at a moments notice anywhere on the neck to add instant interest to any of your existing pentatonic lines.
