Daniele Gottardo was born August 26, 1983 in Rovigo and is a young Italian guitarist, composer, arranger and teacher. He has played with musicians such as Greg Howe, Ritchie Kotzen, Guthrie Govan, Rudy Sarzo, Atma Anur, Lee Pearson. His main musical influences are Igor Stravinksy, Arnold Schoenberg, Anatoly Liadov, Rimksy Korsakov and guitarists as Charlie Christian and Yngwie Malmsteen.
He began playing at the age of 14 years intrigued by the guitar of his father, a red Fender Stratocaster, which is still his favorite guitar. After obtaining the diploma of Master of Arts in Pictorial Decorations, at age 19 he graduated with honors at the Music Academy Lizard in Fiesole (Florence).Â He realized for Playgame Music his first instructional video based on his 8 finger tapping technique entitled "TAPPING". In 2004, Daniele began his frotman experience with pop singer Alexia and until 2008 he tooks part in numerous live concerts, conferences, TV shows and tours (Malaysia, Canada, Croatia, Slovenia and Switzerland). He starts teaching electric guitar at prestigious Italian Music Shools, currently he teaches at 'MMI-Modern Music Institute of Alex Stornello; since several years conducting seminars and master classes and participate in the most important guitar festivals all over the Italian territory (Acoustic Guitar International in Sarzana, Guitar Festival in Fiorano Modenese, Meet Milan,Â Guitar Day and SHG Second Hand Guitar in Milan, International Festival of Guitars in Mottola, Eddie Lang Jazz Festival, Monteroduni. His YouTube video "Come sei Veramente" inspired theÂ competition of "reinterpretation of Giovanni Allevi" at MEET in Milan and was rewarded by Giovanni Allevi himself. DanieleÂ has worked since 2006 with the magazine Axe Magazine, on topics of instrumental technique and advanced chromatic harmony concepts. Since 2008 he collaborates with the English site "Jamtrackcentral" which shows his guitar style alongside guitarists such as Guthrie Govan. It ranks third in the GUITAR IDOL 2008, the International competition for guitarists, held at the London International Music Show in London. To GUITAR IDOL 2009 he won the prize for the best technique and the "Steve Vai Award". In the same year Eleven Electrix produces his distortion "GOTTYBOYÂ Signature Model - Special Germanium Distortion Pedal For Extreme Tapping Techniques". Daniele also sees product his "Humbucker bridge - Daniele Gottardo Signature Model" by MAMA Pickups. In 2010 he made his first instrumental album "Frenzy of Ecstasy" where you focus on jazz, nu-metal and classical / romantic. "Frenzy of Ecstasy" is distributed worldwide in digital download by Digital Nations, the digital division of Favored Nation of Steve Vai. A Jewel box ofÂ "Frenzy of Ecstasy" is included in 4000 copies of the magazine for guitarists AXE MAGAZINE in January 2011 issue. In 2011 he released his second instructional video "Superfingering Advanced Concept for Electric Guitar" the revolutionary new way of playing the guitar, which shows a cutting-edge methodology, produced by Estremomusic and distributed by VolontÃ & Co. and the prestigious Hudson Music in Europe / USA. He promotes on YouTube his own competition, where winning is the best interpretation of Sbrego Guitar, song taken from his album. The jury makes use of experts on the international music scene, including the great Jason Becker and the American producer Mark Varney. ItÂ involves more than 640 competitors from 42 countries aound the world. In November 2011 he was invited to play in Amsterdam at the European event of the "Jason Becker's Not Dead Yet Festival" where he performed with big names as Guthrie Govan, Stu Hamm, IA Eklund, Kiko Loureiro, Mattias Ia Eklundh .... etc.. Daniele is recording his second CD, a sort of continuation of "Frenzy of Ecstasy" but with more orchestral arrangements also symphonic, post-tonal harmonies with late romantic derivations.
