Jan Cyrka is probably best known for three solo albums full of meaty guitar playing: Beyond the Common Ground, Spirit and Prickly Pear. However, his career began in the 1980s when he was guitarist-in-chief with cartoon biker band Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction, supporting Guns N’ Roses on extensive tours of the US and Canada.
He now composes and records music for a variety of clients: his music has appeared on TV shows and movies such as Friends, Coronation Street, High Fidelity, Saturday Night Live, America's Most Wanted, Wife Swap, I'm Alan Partridge, The Jeremy Kyle Show, Absolutely Fabulous, Bargain Hunt, Flog It!, The Graham Norton Effect, The Bill, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, Escape to the Country, Homes Under the Hammer, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Malcolm in the Middle, The Jamie Foxx Show, 10 Years Younger, A Place in the Sun, American Idol, The One Show, James May's 20th Century and many many others. Most recently, Jan's music can be heard in the BAFTA winner film 'Iron Lady' featuring Meryl Streep.
Jan has worked with several of the world’s finest players in his studio, most of them now on the JTC roster! Most noticeably Guthrie Govan where Jan produced and mixed Guthrie's highly acclaimed album 'Erotic Cakes'. (He even created the images for the album 's cover and inside artwork).
Jan has also had the pleasure of co writing with such luminaries as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones), Yngwie Malmsteen, Pat Travers and Zakk Wylde.
Adrian Clark is a guitarist, transcriber and writer. He founded Jam Track Central with Jan Cyrka, and transcribes all of the Tab in our packages. He has also worked for Guitarist magazine since 1994, writing hundreds of transcriptions, technique articles and product reviews, and was Music Editor for several years. He has interviewed and ghost-written columns for a variety of big-name players, including Edward Van Halen, Brian Setzer, Ronny Jordan and Yngwie Malmsteen.
Adrian’s transcription work has also appeared in a variety of other publications, including books and international magazines. He was a guitar teacher for ten years, and wrote the tuition book Legends. He has recorded product demos, lessons and commercials in many musical styles. When he finds the time, he also provides a private transcription, notation and arrangement service.
Jonny Carpenter has been in the music industry for over 8 years and gained most of his experience working for the musical instruments manufacturer Roland. Working his way through the ranks in both the sales and marketing divisions he became the Guitar Product Manager for the effects giants BOSS. He headed many global campaigns including a relaunch of the Roland Cube XL amps, which included a ground breaking 3d video voiced by Zane Lowe, and a global BOSS competition with Jam Track Central. He has a solid grounding of business and a keen eye for opportunity and promotion.
He joined Jam Track Central in 2011 with one thing in mind…to make it the most inspirational site for guitar players around the world. He is the co-founder of our JTC Records label along with Jan Cyrka as well as Jam Track Central’s sister merchandise arm…JTC Merch.
Steve is a guitarist and musician who’s been playing guitar for just over a decade now. He graduated from university with a BA (hons) Degree in Popular Music back in 2013 and after a brief trial period at the end of 2014, we liked him enough to make him a permanent fixture at JTC for the start of 2015! Steve now takes care of a lot of the ‘day to day’ tasks covering everything from video/audio editing and creating our packages, to site updates, social media and customer emails!
